Tree of Hope 2013
Our 3rd Tree of Hope ceremony will be held on Wednesday 11th December. The idea for the Tree of Hope came from our CEO's visit to a ground-breaking Philadelphia Treatment Centre as part of his Churchill Fellowship in America. The concept of the tree is to demonstrate recovery from addiction is a reality and does happen.

Wynford Ellis Owen was struck at the simplicity of the Tree of Hope concept and thought it a great idea to bring to Wales to mark our first Christmas at Living Room Cardiff. It has since evolved into a regular event which is celebrated by everyone who inhabit the Baptist College site and by other treatment providers and service users in Cardiff and throughout south Wales

Everyone is welcome to join us for our celebrations at 5.30pm on 11th December 2013, where they can collect their individual stars to place on the Tree of Hope. Visitors are also free to tour the centre, speak to people who work here and enjoy mince pies and sing Christmas carols. Living Room Cardiff would also like to thank Pugh's garden centre for their generosity in supplying the beautiful Christmas tree every year. The event culminates with an authentic curry which is the talk of the town.

“To have a special message inscribed on an individual star of hope, please call Living Room Cardiff on 029 20493895 or email livingroom-cardiff@cais.org.uk by 9th December 2013.
Coeden Gobaith 2013
Cynhelir ein 3ydd seremoni Coeden Gobaith dydd Mercher 11 Rhagfyr. Daeth y syniad o Goeden Gobaith o ymweliad ein Prif Weithredwr â Chanolfan Driniaeth Philadelphia fel rhan o’i Ysgoloriaeth Churchill yn America. Cysyniad y goeden yw dangos bod adferiad o ddibyniaeth yn realaeth a’i fod yn digwydd.

Cafodd Wynford Ellis Owen ei synnu gan symlrwydd y cysyniad o Goeden Gobaith a meddyliodd ei fod yn syniad da i ddod ag ef i Gymru i nodi Nadolig cyntaf yn y Stafell Fyw. Ers hynny, mae wedi datblygu’n ddigwyddiad blynyddol y mae pawb ar safle Coleg y Bedyddwyr yn ei ddathlu ynghyd â darparwyr triniaeth a defnyddwyr eraill y gwasanaethau yng Nghaerdydd a de Cymru.

Mae croeso i bawb ymuno â ni yn ein dathliadau am 5.30yh ar 11 Rhagfyr 2013 lle gallan nhw gael eu sêr unigol i’w rhoi ar y Goeden Gobaith. Mae croeso hefyd i ymwelwyr weld y ganolfan, siarad â phobl sy’n gweithio yma a mwynhau mins peis a chanu carolau. Hoffem ddiolch i ganolfan arddio Pugh am eu caredigrwydd bob blwyddyn yn sicrhau bod gennym goeden. Mae’r noson yn gorffen gyda chyri sy’n enwog drwy’r ddinas.

“I gael neges arbennig wedi’i hysgrifennu ar seren obaith bersonol, gallwch ffonio Stafell Fyw Caerdydd ar 029 20493895 neu anfon e-bost ar livingroom-cardiff@cais.org.uk erbyn 9 Rhagfyr 2013.

“ ‘The Open Arms’ will be a place to eat, drink, hang out and meet up – without the booze. There aren’t many places like that… which is why we want to set up this one!”

‘The Open Arms’ is a revolutionary new concept for Wales. It will take alcohol out of the mix to provide a welcoming and safe space where people from all walks of life can come to eat, drink, socialise and relax.
